CogniTens Acquired by Hexagon, Global Metrology Market Leader, Joins Largest Industrial Measurement Group

CogniTens, a leading provider of shop floor integrated dimensional measurement solutions, announced today that it has been acquired by Hexagon, the world's largest measurement company for industrial and construction applications. CogniTens joins the Hexagon Metrology group consisting of technology diverse industry acclaimed measurement systems brands such as Brown & Sharp, DEA, Leica Geosystems, Sheffield, Romer, PC-DMIS and others.

As part of Hexagon Metrology group, CogniTens will continue its tradition of developing and introducing new products, closely supporting customer's implementations and providing added value services for the benefit of its global customer base. Existing and new CogniTens customers will enjoy the enhanced support of the globally spread Hexagon network with presence in close to 100 countries.

With over 50 of the world's leading Automotive OEMs and suppliers already using CogniTens solutions in their engineering and manufacturing operations, there is a growing market demand for full 3D non contact measurement of large parts, assemblies and tools directly in the industrial shop floor environment.
